Mother's Day

Originally I was planning on seeing my mom in a few weeks, so I thought I would just take her something then. I was in no hurry to find a Mother's Day gift. I'm a huge procrastinator when it comes to gifts. Anyway, super last minute we decided to head to Snyder for Mother's Day, so I needed a gift ASAP. I've been playing around with http://www.tagxedo.com/ at school and trying to find away for my students to use it. Still haven't figured that out, but I did come up with this adorable Mother's Day gift!
I created this with http://www.tagxedo.com/ using words that describe my mom, saved it to a flash drive and printed it at Walgreen's. I bought a frame at Hobby Lobby, half off of course, and ended up with...
I think it turned out pretty cute for a last minute gift! My iphone phot reallly doesn't do it justice. The colors are much cuter in person.  I'll make it to my mom on her birthday in a month!

Iron on...

So when I made all the pink and brown headbands for precious baby Brynlee's shower about a month ago I had great plans to make a couple matching onesies. My great plan didn't work out and I didn't finish them for the shower. I started out using heat n bond, but between me and my husband we could not figure it out. Even though the shower had already passed I really wanted to figure this out, so I bought  steam-a-seam2 last week. It was so easy! You just stick it to your fabric, run it through the cricut to cut out the shape and iron on! I still haven't mastered the art of cutting fabric with the cricut, but I think these turned out pretty cute. I finished them this past weekend, just in time!

I cut the flower out on the cricut and hand stitched the center on.
These were about the only two shapes I could get the cricut to cut, but I'm still going to play with it. Have a Happy Easter!

Headbands...

I finally bought headbands for all the adorable flowers I made. I just love them! My sister-in-law just found out they are having a little girl, so now I have a great excuse to make even more! :)

All the pink and brown ones were used for a shower for a girl at school. We put them around vases for the centerpieces at each table. It turned out really cute!

Go Tech!

My favorite!
Hopefully, I will get back to scrapbooking and post that soon. Happy crafting!

S*P*R*I*N*G

It's the first day of my spring break and I needed a little break from scrapbooking. I've starred a ton of different fabric flowers on my google reader, so I decided to give a few a try. I started by following several tutorials on blissfulmeandering using felt. I think they tured out really cute.

Them I made a few fabric flowers. There are tutorials for these on a ton of blogs.

I started playing around with the fabric and made a few of my own. They aren't my favorite of the ones I made today, but still cute.

First, I cut 6 rectagles of fabric about 3 inches by 2 inches.
I folded each piece in half and hot glued it together.

Then I kind of bunched it together, not the best explanation, but hopefully the pictures speak for themselves.

Then I glued then around the circle and added the button.
WOO HOO for spring break!!!

ABC girl scrapbook :)

So I can finally show the pictures of the ABC baby girl scrapbook I've been working on for awhile. I gave it to a friend at her shower this weekend. I love the way it turned out! However, I do not love the glitter scrapbook paper. My cricut won't cut it and glue won't stick to it. UGH! It was too perfect for this particular book, but I won't be using it again.

It looks a little busy in the pictures, but it isn't hard to read at all in person. I could not find a cute scrapbook for it anywhere, so I bought a plain brown one and added this ribbon and flowers. At the last minute I decided the bag just had to match the book, so I made the flower at home and glued it on the bag in the parking lot. :)

Scrapbooking

I've been doing a ton of scrapbooking lately. I'll be posting it soon hopefully, but it's a surprise! So, for now I'll post a book I did this summer for a friend who has an adorable baby boy. It's an ABC book that matches little Wyatt's nursery. :)

Some of the words are a little hard to read in the pictures because I take all my pics with my iphone. The pages say: adorable, bath time, cuddling, daddy and me, eating, family, grandparents, handsome, I love you, joy, kisses, little one, mommy and me, new arrival, our family, play, quiet, rock-a-bye, smile, tiny, unique, very special, Wyatt, x-tra cute, yawn, and zzzz. I used my Old West Cricut Cartridge and love the way it turned out!
